2026 MATH PENTATHLON

Math Pentathlon is a non-competitive after school program where students play games that reinforce math concepts. It is fun, stimulating, and educational. The program culminates with a Game Day held at Dorseyville Middle School on Saturday, March 7, 2026 where participants play the games against students from the other elementary schools in the Fox Chapel Area School District. Each participant will receive a Math Pentathlon t-shirt and a medal for participating in the program.
Math Pentathlon practice sessions are held after school on Thursdays at Kerr Elementary. Students are dismissed by division for a snack (included in the program fee) before learning and playing their respective games. Each division learns and plays three different games over a six-week period. The students play each game for two weeks. All students are dismissed at 4:45 pm for pickup.
Division I – Kindergarten and 1st Grade
Division II – 2nd and 3rd Grades
Division III – 4th and 5th Grades
The dates of the 2026 Math Pentathlon program are:
- January 29 & February 5: Game #1
- February 12 & 19: Game #2
- February 26 & March 5: Game #3
- Saturday, March 7: Game Day at Dorseyville Middle School (details will follow)
Parent volunteers are needed in all three divisions to learn the games and assist students in playing them during Thursday after-school sessions and on Game Day. Math Pentathlon is entirely volunteer-run and parental support is vital to its success. As per Fox Chapel Area School District policy, clearances are required for all parent volunteers. Volunteer information will be available on registration.
ALL PAYMENTS & REGISTRATIONS WILL BE COMPLETED ONLINE ONLY!
Register will be available between January 6, 2026 and January 13, 2026. Your registration will be deemed complete when both the form is filled out in its entirety and payment is submitted. Space is limited, so early registration is encouraged. Late registrations will not be accepted. The cost of the program is $35 per student. A limited number of scholarships are available for PTO-sponsored activities, including Math Pentathlon. Please call or email for scholarship information prior to registering your student.
Note: Kerr PTO-sponsored ASK programming will run concurrently with Math Pentathlon from the last week of January through the first week of March; no ASK classes are held on Thursdays. For more information on the ASK program please visit kerrpto.org/ask.
